Description
During their journey to Mazindaran, the believers passed through the village of Niyala. A few of the Babis, who did not understand why Tahirih had taken off her veil during the Conference, behaved in a shameful way towards the village women. They mistakenly thought that they could now do whatever they wanted, whereas Tahirih's intent was to announce the equality of the sexes.
