Artist's Description
From the upcoming book, 'Standard Bearers of Love', by Shirin Sabri, and the story, 'To Brave the Storm': Hearing that a well-known Mujtahid of Manshad, Persia, had become a Baha'i, outraged authorities, as a punishment, seized six Baha'is of Manshad, imprisoned them in Yazd, then sent them in chains and on foot, 400 kilometres, to face the Governor of the Province in Isfahan. The astonished Governor released the six prisoners, They returned to Manshad but eventually were all, Fatimih-Begum included, brutally murdered by hostile mobs provoked by the clergy.
